What is an AI Product Owner?

An AI Product Owner (APO) owns an agent — or a fleet of agents — the way a product owner owns a product. They are accountable not for a one-time launch but for the agent's outcomes, its roadmap, the trust around it, and the experience of the people who work alongside it.

The APO sits where business intent meets the build. They translate a messy, human business process into something an agent can actually run, decide how much autonomy it earns, and measure whether it moved Real People Impact — not just whether it shipped.
