A Series Starts Today: What 2026 Is About to Demand From Every Organization

Most leaders are still debating whether AI is real.

The ones who will lead in 2026 are already asking a different question: How do we prepare our people, our processes, and our culture for what's already arriving?

Over the next several weeks, I'm launching a series on three forces that are converging faster than most organizations realize — conversational AI, autonomous agents, and humanoid robotics — and what they mean for the way your teams work and the way your customers buy.

Let me start with what I'm seeing on the ground.

We crossed a threshold without much fanfare.

Conversational AI is no longer a novelty interface. It's becoming the nervous system of how work gets done — internally by your employees, and externally in the buying journey with your customers. The question isn't if it's being used. It's whether its use is intentional, measured, and aligned to the way your people actually work.

At the same time, robotics has quietly left the lab.

By 2026, humanoid robots — powered by what researchers call vision-language-action models — are moving from controlled industrial environments into active workforces. They're engaging customers at booths. Performing physical tasks autonomously. Understanding contextual, multi-step instructions through natural language. Models like the Unitree G1, Agibot A2, and others are being deployed in manufacturing, aerospace, and commercial settings right now — not in five years.

This is no longer a thought experiment. It's an implementation timeline.

Here's what I believe is true, and what this series is built around:

The organizations that win in this era won't be the ones who bought the most technology. They'll be the ones who made the most purposeful, continuous progress in preparing their people to work alongside it.

Right now, that means:

Understanding where conversational AI already lives in your organization. Not just officially — informally. Where are your employees using it? Where are customers encountering it in their buying journey? Is it working for them, or around them?

Building the muscle for human-agent teaming. Your employees aren't just going to use AI tools — they're going to work alongside agents. That's a different skill, a different mindset, and a different change management challenge.

Starting to think beyond agents. Because the teams of tomorrow won't just include human employees and digital agents. They'll include physical co-workers. And the cultural, operational, and leadership groundwork you lay today will determine how ready you are when that moment arrives.

The first step isn't a technology decision. It's an honest assessment.

Walk your own organization. Ask your people what they're already using. Map where AI is showing up in the customer journey — in discovery, in engagement, in support. Find the friction. Find the adoption. Find the gaps.

That's where the transformation actually starts.

This series will go deep on each of these threads — the evolution of conversational AI inside organizations and across the customer journey, what human-agent teaming looks like in practice, and what humanoid robotics means for the workforce horizon ahead.

Because the organizations that will lead in 2026 and beyond aren't waiting for the technology to stabilize.

They're building the organizational readiness to meet it.

Follow along. More coming this week. And if you're already thinking about this inside your organization — I'd love to hear where you are in the journey. Drop it in the comments.
